TOWER RAGIOU

The only one currently open space in Thesprotia is 9 mm. northwest of the city of Igoumenitsa it Is a small castle on top of a small hill, cone-shaped, was built in the 16th century as an observatory of the motion of the Turks in the area.

DYMOKASTRO

Is 8 mm. southwest of the community of Perdika. Fortified coastal settlement of the late classical and hellenistic periods. Challenge is for the visitor, the only archaeological site overlooking the Ionian sea and the beach of Karavostasi.

THE CASTLE OF PARGAS

The venetian castle of Parga, on the hill above the town, with great views of the city, the beach, Swamp and the sea of the Ionian sea.

DELTA OF KALAMA

The area is one of the most important wetlands in the country, with a rich avifauna and attracts many visitors who are interested in aquatic birds. The starting point of the route that we propose is located in Sagiada mainly to the settlement of Snagging, the port of. From there begins a dirt road that leads straight to the Delta.

ANCIENT NIKOPOLI

The ancient Nicopolis, built by the Romans in 27 bc. X. with the ancient theatre and the mosaics. (50 km). from Parga and 7 km. from the town of Preveza.

SOULI

Heroic and glorious village at a distance of 73 km from Igoumenitsa. It is known for the struggles of the inhabitants against the Turks. Every year there are events and representation of the blasting of the monastery Κουγκίου from the Monk Samuel.

GITANA

The Γιτάνη (in the doric dialect Γίτανα) was in ancient times one of the most important political, administrative and economic centers of Thesprotia. Ruins of the city are located on a slope of the mountain of Βρυσέλλας in a great many respects, landscape, surrounded by the largest part of the river Kalamas (Thyamis) who contributed greatly to the economic autonomy of the city. The foundation of the city dates back to the second half of the 4th century. e.X., although the area was inhabited already existed since prehistoric times.
